Continuing to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Sneakersnstuff and The North Face will launch an exclusive collaborative capsule collection on October 19th, 2019.
Inspired by the early days of The North Face and the environment it was built in, Sneakersnstuff reflects on the history of the West Coast brand through a tie-dye prism. Honoring the immersive decade when the mountaineering specialist opened its doors in 1966 right before the Summer of Love in San Francisco, the partnership gives way for winter season-appropriate gear that properly bridges today’s zeitgeist with the spirit of the groundbreaking 1960s.
The collection taps into a time where people from all backgrounds met in California, a region known for its countermovement free-thinking spirit, DIY style, and colorful tie-dye clothing. Sneakersnstuff and The North Face add a contemporary spin to five pieces that feel quintessentially fall and winter-ready, connecting both stories, the one from SNS and from TNF.
Building on a long-lasting friendship, the Sneakersnstuff and The North Face capsule collection includes four clothing pieces as well as “The Berkeley Boot” – a reinterpretation of a hiking boot made for the city. Spearheaded by the Nuptse Jacket, the classic lightweight down jacket, we see updated Tie-Dye versions of the cozy Denali Fleece and Fleece Pant as well as a cap. The Back-To-Berkeley Redux boot nods to the past with an insulated, waterproof construction, featuring tie-dye elements, leather overlays, and a grippy outsole.
To accompany the collection, fictional local Californian dirtbag and mountaineer Mike stars in the campaign, who is dauntingly great and symbolizes the feeling of the partnership, but who also got lost during transit on the way to the photo shoot in Stockholm.
The Sneakersnstuff x The North Face capsule collection is available exclusively on a first-come-first-serve basis on October 19th 2019 at Sneakersnstuff stores in Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles, with sign-ups for online now open in the SNS app.
