Earlier this month, Lucki announced Days B4 III and revealed that cover art which is created by Lonewolf and pays tribute to Chief Keef’s mixtape Almighty So. Lucki followed up the announcement by dropping the Jake Osmun-directed video for a new single titled “Nascar Dashcar.” Lucki has already been having a breakout year since releasing his last project, Freewave 3 in February. He was recently spotlighted in The FADER and WAV’s docuseries ‘FREQUENCIES’ and he performed at Fader Fort earlier this year.
Lucki was featured in an in depth profile with Pitchfork and Pitchfork praised Freewave 3 in their review of the project. Lucki has become somewhat of a cult antihero in his hometown of Chicago and a leader of the new wave of minimalist rap. At 23 years old he’s already a veteran by industry standards and he feels like he hasn’t reached the pinnacle of his artistic output yet. With his new project set to release later this month he’s falling into position as one of 2019’s breakout stars.
He also released the first single “4 The Betta.” Check it out below.
