The latest episode of FREQUENCIES is here– the exciting docuseries from music discovery platform, WAV in partnership with the definitive music authority, The FADER – which spotlights one of the most in-demand producers in rap music, Kenny Beats. The new, full episode, which also features appearances by Zack Fox and Danny Brown, is now available to watch exclusively on the WAV app here.
Working with a veritable who’s who in music today, including Vince Staples, Gucci Mane, FKA Twigs, Rico Nasty, Key!, JPEGMAFIA and many more, the highly-prolific producer takes us from his home to the studio, introducing viewers to his team of collaborators that keep things moving for their YouTube show, The Cave. From tacos with Zack to a special peek in-studio with Danny, where the pair reflect on when they first met when Kenny was just a teenager, the new episode spotlights the producer and his unique ways of working. Kenny discusses how he aims to alleviate creative tension, finding power in a simple conversation: “Beat making is the smallest part of what’s going on in the studio,” he says. “The hour conversation about what’s going on with your life, those conversations lead to the songs being so good.”
