From their Fall/Winter 2019 “New World” collection, Filling Pieces remixes one of their most recognizable silhouettes, the Low Plasma Heel Cap Orbit, creating a more streamlined and minimalistic Plasma Jet Heat sneaker.
In-line with core values of this season’s conceptual new society – “Respect the old, invest in the new,” the Plasma Jet Heat builds on its predecessor through the fusion of both modern and classic shoemaking methods.
This silhouette is constructed using an innovative heat pressurized system to bond a durable composite layer over a hand-sewn breathable mesh, and luxury suede and Nappa leather paneling. The evolution of this style is completed through the addition of their custom Jet sole, which is composed of LivetechTM – a shock-absorbent and durable yet feather-light Italian rubber technology. This results in a more lightweight and wearable rendition of the Plasma silhouette with minimal seams and stitching.
Featured in a video project by Yavez Anthonio on the influence of Crenshaw, Los Angeles on global cultural movements, the Plasma Jet Heat is captured through the pioneering spirit of this neighborhood. A forward-looking society made richer by the traditions of its multicultural inhabitants.
The Plasma Jet Heat comes in two colorways – black with vibrant purple and striped composite layers or beige with yellow – and is available for pre-order exclusively at fillingpieces.com, where styles are slated to ship before or on October 27.
