Swedish-American left-field pop artist Mapei is gearing up to release her awaited and highly anticipated new album this November. In late August she warmed fans up with the projects first single “Rise Up“, an inspirational, dance-y soul-pop bop with a punch of Gospel grandiosity. The song has accumulated over 178K streams on Spotify and TIME included it in their ‘5 Best Songs of the Week’ roundup, raving “Its hard not to find joy in her message” and calling it an “undeniable pump up jam”.
Today Mapei has unveiled a follow up single and the title track to the album, “Sensory Overload.” The song has a hypnotic, vibe-y appeal, and was synced into a global H&M autumn campaign. When asked about the inspiration behind the track, Mapei shared, “‘Sensory Overload’ is about the overflood of information we consume everyday without actually reflecting on how it affects us. It’s about how strong we are, due to the circumstances that we’re put into. It’s about never giving up, even through the pain.”
