Seth Curry traveled back to Charlotte, North Carolina to host a developmental basketball camp for the youth in the area. The camp was a one day event and took place on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Carolina Courts Indian Trail just outside of Charlotte in Indian Trail, NC. The camp ranged with youth ages starting at 7-16.
In hosting this camp, Curry wanted to have a positive impact on the Charlotte and Indian Trial Communities he was raised in. The camp offered children a chance to work out with Curry while focusing on basketball development along with life skills.
“My family grew up here, me and my brother played on courts like this as we watched our Dad play on the big courts. We were raised on values that taught us to never forget where we came from and to make sure we are always giving back to the community. I remember being young and loving when I would get to shoot around with the NBA guys and soak in tips and dream of one day being in their shoes. That’s what I’m trying to do for these kids, that excitement and motivation is what I hope they feel when they leave my camp.” Says Curry on why he’s choosing to host this camp in North Carolina.
In this past off-season, Curry stamped a huge role in the Portland Trailblazers playoff run and ended up returning back to his former squad, the Dallas Mavericks on a hefty 4Yr/$32 million contract. After being moved from team to team, looks as if Seth will have a huge opportunity to call Dallas his home, for now.
We look forward to checking out Seth on the hardwood with the Mavericks this NBA season.
