Chicago punk / producer / creator HXLT has released his sophomore LP Bloom From Doom. The project inspired him and long time friend/collaborator Virgil Abloh to coin a new genre “Black Wave”: music with produced beats, guitars and singling melody. HXLT has been a true original since the early 2000s and holds many unique places in Chicago. He went from gang life into punk rock world where his fusion of hip hop and punk ideology influenced many past and current big names coming out of the city. He’s been revered and respected for the past 15 years and is still close with everyone he’s met along the way; from former gang members, punk kids and good friends like Virgil.
Years before the current trend of rap and metal genre-mashing, Chicago’s HXLT was laying the groundwork for the two worlds to coexist in a cool, refined, thoroughly modern way – REVOLVER
