Kicking off its series of summer events, AND1 will add another addition to its “Paint the Park” initiative, offering the budding street-ballers of New Orleans the ultimate home-court advantage. AND1 and Walmart will revamp Guste Community Park, revealing court upgrades including a court-sized street art mural. The Paint the Park event will also feature special giveaways, a mobile barber, health screenings by Walmart, celebrity appearances and more.
NBA star and AND1 brand ambassador, Montrezl Harrell will host the re-dedication of Guste Community Park. Renowned street artists, The Iluminaries, will lead overall court design and mural painting. Iconic NOLA bounce deejay, DJ Jubilee, will spin the 1s and 2s with Cupid on the mic. Walmart is donating funds to help refurbish the court and donating sports equipment. Together, Walmart associate volunteers and AND1 will refurbish the court and bring exciting entertainment and family fun to the court dedication celebration.
The Paint the Park initiative aims to improve the conditions of neighborhood parks and basketball courts for youth. This project simultaneously pays homage to streetball culture and provides recreation and refuge for the community.
