Atlanta-based T.R.U. rapper SKOOLY dropped a new music video for previously released hit single “Lil Boy Shit.” Directed by CBR Media and produced by Quay Global, the video features a ‘lil boy’ version of Skooly, wearing the same outfit and living similar, yet contrasting lavish lives. Catch Skooly live at Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 16th.
Skooly, born Kazarion Fowler, formed a hip-hop group at 14 years old with his friend Kaelub Denson (also known as RKaelub) which would grow into a collective of other artists known as Rich Kidz. In 2015, Skooly branched off into a solo career releasing a series of singles and his Blacc John Gotti mixtape. His trademark, nasally snarl and warped trill is credited for changing the way Atlanta rapped long before the rise of the eccentric rappers who courted the power of melody (Pitchfork). The collection of tracks featured cameo appearances by Young Dolph, Ryns, Que and even 2 Chainz. Shortly after collaborating with Skooly, 2 Chainz signed the young rapper to his T.R.U. label. Skooly’sdebut for T.R.U. came in the form of 2017’s full-length album BAcCWArdFeELiNgS, which featured guest spots from Young Thug, Kidd, and others. The following year, Skoolywould release his acclaimed three-part Don’t You Ever Forget Me. Skooly kicked off 2019 with his defiant single “LIL BOY SHIT” (watch Family Guy-inspired lyric video HERE) which was followed-up by his latest offering “PROUD OF YOU.”
