Rapper Andy Mineo recently kicks off the release of his latest video “Keepin It Movin” from his upcoming mixtape WORK IN PROGESS set to release on Friday, August 23rd. The video was directed and edited by Pete Wall (Light Media) and captures Andy’s European tour scene; check out in full HERE.
Respect Mag was able to sit down more in-person with Andy Mineo and his team in New York City to discuss more behind the music. Check out the interview in full below to get more details on Andy’s latest music, and upcoming project; along with what’s to come next.
Q: What Inspires Your Latest Video?
A: “The latest video Keepin it movin is really a street video. But it’s part documentary because it travels with me in parts of my first European tour – so the whole way the song came about was me being on tour in Europe and I brought out a guy who was out there named Guvna B. And he came to my hotel room and saw my mobile studio set up and from there he suggested we do a song before we go on to perform”
Q: Describe Your Project Coming In August.
A: “This project is called WORK IN PROGRESS and it’s basically a mixtape podcast hybrid. So these records have been sitting around on my hard drive for like a year to years. Some even date back to 2014 but they’re records that never came out for various reasons. We just wanted to use this year to get myself back into the music and recording process. I just came out with the idea of including the podcast to describe the full journey of this process”
Q: What Do You Have Planned After The Project Release?
A: “Basically I have a European tour coming up but I’m really aiming to get back in the studio and take some team trips to get inspired for a new campaign”
