Murs & 9th Wonder Announce New Album & Release Two New Singles

This past March marked the fifteenth anniversary of Murs & 9^th Wonder’s partnership, as their debut collaborative project, Murs 3:16: The 9^th Edition(which was released on Def Jux) exceptional introduction laid the groundwork for the strong bond that has been cultivated since; and also for a lot of great music.

Over the course of the last fifteen-years, Murs & 9^th have been prolific as a duo. Since Murs 3:16, they have released five additional albums and though their last collaborative effort, The Final Adventure (2012), hinted that the end of the series was upon us, today both of these legends reunite for a victory lap.

The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over (the title references the two poems that are attributed to Greek poet Homer) is the final installment of Murs & 9^th Wonder’s epic journey and it will be released on 7-19-2019 via EMPIRE. In addition to the album announcement, Murs & 9^th also released two new singles, “Night Shift,” (produced by Kash) B/W “Ga$ Station Gucci Belt” which is produced by 9^th Wonder.

“9th and I have been working together since ’03 and were like brothers at this point. This album is my first release post-Strange Music and post a lot of other major life changes” Murs stated to Ambrosiaforheads. “I wanted to give it my all, so my wife was kind enough to hold down the fort for a few weeks while I immersed myself in the recording process. 18 hours a day listening to beats and trying to craft the best material possible. The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over is the result. We definitely didn’t rush; as evidenced by the 41-city tour I just completed promoting an album that still isn’t out. I am tremendously proud of our work and I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world. As I begin the next chapter in this epic saga I am blessed to call my career The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over. When 9th first said that was the title. I was like nah; but now I think it’s a perfect fit for this moment in time.”
