San Antonio-native rapper BLAKE dropped the visual to his latest single “Adding Up” today on his 22nd birthday. “Adding Up” marks the fourth of five tracks released this year, including “Too Many,” “Hot Sauce,” and “No Service.”
Blake – who spent last summer traveling North America alongside Juice WRLD on his epic “WRLD Domination Tour” – unleashed “Headfirst,” his official Atlantic Records debut and first single from “A DRIP LIKE THIS” at the top of summer 2018, which featured the single “Headfirst.” “Headfirst” is available for streaming and download HERE. The track’s companion visual – streaming HERE – premiered via Complex, which simply declared, “Blake is bringing in the next stage of his career in style.”
“A DRIP LIKE THIS” was heralded earlier this summer with the premiere of the title track’s official companion video via WorldStarHipHop. Directed by Yung Tada, “A DRIP LIKE THIS” is streaming now HERE. Now boasting over 40 million total YouTube views and more than 20 million Spotify streams, Blake first attracted online attention in 2017 with a distinctive strain of thick bass lines, gritty percussion, and intense cadence.
Tracks like “Flexin“ drew more than 14 million YouTube views HERE while critical praise rolled in from such online outlets as WorldStarHipHop, Revolt, and Young California, which recently raved, “Being from the South and having an ear for what sounds good and what doesn’t, Blake trademarks his own style, delivering hard-hitting rhymes over trap-heavy production — with a whole lot of swag.”
“The most important thing to me was to have my own sound. It’s based on gangster beats, heavy bass, and feelings. It’s really intense and deep. I want people to feel it, literally and figuratively.” It’s impossible not to feel, because it’s rooted in honesty.”
