NOLA lyricist and producer Pell follows up his latest offering “Bitch Ass” (3/22) with an accompanying candid visual, released through Payday Records.
The “Bitch Ass” music video begins with the daunting scene staring straight into the eyes of Pell, as he urges the importance and necessity it is to love yourself and stand up to those that doubted you. The visual radiates an intimate and organic vibe, compelling you to look deep down and remind yourself, to be surrounded by those who give support and to walk away from those that discourage.
Pell kicked off 2019 with the release of “Bitch Ass”, speaking on self-empowerment, self-love and to always chase your dreams. Produced by Grammy-winning Los Angeles producer Rahki (most known for “Institutionalized” by Kendrick Lamar, “Insecurities” by Syd, “Happy Birthday” by Mac Miller, and more), who previously worked with Pell on the “chirpin” record from his previous project, 2017’s ‘girasoul’ EP.

“Less is more. ‘Bitch Ass’ (the song) was inspired by reflection so it’s only right the video is the same. I didn’t want a bunch of b-roll and extra effects. I wanted more raw and focused energy so that people could hear the words and have to watch me say them. Miles & AJ, the directors, developed one of the most delicately constructed sets off all time,” Pell describes.
Since taking the industry by storm in 2014, the electric New Orleans native, Pell, born Jared Pellerin, has continued to expand his sound and musicality. His stellar ‘Floating While Dreaming’ mixtape garnered attention and praise from press across the board, including FADER, Billboard, XXL, Complex, among others.
Pell linked with NGHTMRE for ‘Magic Hour’ EP, releasing through Mad Decent in June 2018. Co-produced by Pell, “Hear Me,” was featured on Madden 19’s soundtrack. Rounding out 2018, Pell was featured on XXL’s What I Do, where the artist was praised for his skillful freestyle, along with accompanyingDoja Cat on her Amala Tour. Recently, Pell shared the stage with Brasstracks on their Vibrant Spring Tour alongside Kemba and was featured on their recent track “Vibrant” from their latest project. He also recently linked with Great Good Fine Ok for their latest single “Terrified”.
