Today, New Orleans-native lyricist, rapper, singer and producer, Pell drops his latest single, “Bitch Ass” from his forthcoming album via Payday Records. The track was produced by Grammy award-winning producer Rahki (most known for “Institutionalized” by Kendrick Lamar, “Insecurities” by Syd, “Happy Birthday” by Mac Miller, and more), who previously worked with Pell on “chirpin’” from his last output girasoul EP. Rounding out 2018, Pell was featured on XXL’s What I Do, where Pell was praised for his skillful freestyle, along with accompanying Doja Cat on her Amala Tour, performing at multiple festivals, and dropping new music. Fresh off of touring with Brasstracks on their The Vibrant Tour, as well as appearing for the first time in Asia with the brand Kitsuné, as part of their “Afterwork” series, this track marks Pell’s first official release of 2019.

The track begins with a classic guitar riff that is repeated throughout the entire song, as Pell raps above it with proclamations of self-love and a middle finger to any “doubters”. The guitar loop over a bouncy bassline creates a sunny all-love-everything vibe, making it a perfect top-down warmer weather hit to sing along to.
The hook “‘Cause I ain’t got no time for your bitch ass”, reminds the listener that in order to achieve your dreams and live your life, you can’t waste your time on the people and things that don’t matter. Pell tells his haters to “get burnt”, sticking to his work hard play hard style, reminding us that he will continue to rise, and isn’t here for the negativity. The beat rides out through the ending, keeping the guitar loop and bouncy bass, while incorporating brighter major chords that leaves the listener with positive vibes.
“Bitch Ass is a warning to those wasting my time,” said Pell. “While simultaneously being an ode to the friends that can call me whenever they need me.”
