Chicago’s newest rising hip hop artist, El Hitta returns with “Groovy Walk”, a companion video to the track off his 2018 Owe Nobody Nothin’. This track trails his recent performances at the Austin-based music conference South by Southwest.
“A lot of people out here are afraid to speak up and say how they really feel. For me, I decided to let everybody know what this is; I’m willing to confess to what I am. In doing so, you earn trust, listeners gravitate towards your music, and believe it,” says Hitta.
Before picking up a microphone or a pen, he spent his formative years in after-school programs and dance classes encouraged by his paternal grandmother. While spending time behind bars, Hitta found solace in writing and rapping for inmates. After receiving positive reactions, in 2016 Hitta decided it was time to explore the world as an artist and turn his life around. Coming off the steam of his breakout track “Aww Yea,” which accumulated over 6 million views since it’s release in July, and “And Gang Nem” [feat. Prince Dee] racking up 3 million views, El Hitta’s unique flow has left fans inspired and excited to hear what he drops next.
