In support of Reebok’s Alter the Icons SS19 campaign, Reebok Classic continues its legacy of saluting those who defy expectations with the release of a new short film starring Atlanta rapper J.I.D.
The short film brings the viewer inside the artist’s personal spaces through docu-style shots and J.I.D.’s candid narration. From the meaning behind his name to the intimate role Atlanta plays in his music, the video explores J.I.D’s influences, inspirations and his individual vision of authenticity.
“I’m super inspired by the old school,” J.I.D. says, “You’ve got to take the authenticity of what’s already created and reflect it in your own way.”
J.I.D’s approach to his art is a perfect match for the spirit behind the Alter The Icons collection. Just as the collection takes Reebok Classic’s heritage silhouettes and imagines them in bold, altered ways, J.I.D. draws from a rich heritage to create his lyrical masterpieces.
The Alter the Icons collection is available now on Reebok.com and in-store at Foot Locker.
