Black Lives Matter Global Network co-founder Patrisse Cullors and Damon Turner, founder of the world’s first Cultural Architecture firm, Trap Heals, LLC, teamed up to curate the multi-city event series: Black Futures Month: Global Pop Ups. The show was featured in multiple cities including Los Angeles, Toronto, and Atlanta. This is one of many activations from Black Lives Matter Arts+Culture X Black Futures Month that BLM has launched to coincide with Black History Month.

Hosted at Hilltop Cafe + Kitchen, the Los Angeles show featured drawings from visual artist Foremost, photos from photographers Ojos Nebulosos & Amina Amxn, and live art by painters Oto Abasi & Judah Griffin. The atmosphere for the event was largely musical, featuring sounds by Afrodiasporic DJ ‘Foreigner’, Hilltop Live’s feature band ‘CoolNasty’, and DJ Jadab0o who recently performed at the “R&B Only” tour. Everyone enjoyed a day full of music, live painting, art, and jewelry, in support of the organization. BLM supporters & art lovers can further enjoy the exhibit until March 3 at Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen.
