Global sports brand PUMA has teamed up once again with Mike Cherman. This time around he lends his creativity and unfuckwithable attitude for a capsule Co.Creative collection inspired by memories of quintessential LA. Remixing West Coast vibes, the collection encapsulates the spirit of Dogtown surfers who have revolutionized skateboarding since the 70’s. The vibrant capsule collection of footwear and apparel with a custom rendition of the OG PUMA California drops on December 12th.
A veteran of streetwear culture and former ICNY chief, Mike Cherman founded Chinatown Market in 2016. A brand that’s making bootleg mainstream, Mike is known for his authentic and fun take on streetstyle. Now based in LA, his Co.Creative project with PUMA is a nod to the city’s free-willed skaters life.
Yassine Saidi, PUMA’s Senior Head of Select shares, “Our aim is to build a community of creatives who influence culture beyond the conventional realms of sports and fashion. Co.Creators influence the influencers by creating with PUMA, for PUMA. Each has a unique, compelling story like that of Mike Cherman. His LA West Coast influence on PUMA’s classic silhouettes embodies the edge that defines our brand.”
With design elements and attitude inspired by the essence of the West Coast lifestyle, Mike Cherman reimagines the OG silhouette as the new Cali-0. A vibrant printed pool upper encapsulated with a rubber tooling wraps up at the toe and heel. The lining, footbed and pool-printed laces represents drained pools famously used by skaters in the 70’s in California. With a molded sockliner for extra comfort, the sneakers drop in Blue Atoll-Whisper White colorway.

For a complete Californian streetstyle look, the collection also includes custom skate-inspired checkerboard printed hoodie and tee. The MCS Pool Track Top and Pant feature blocked seasonal all over printed pool graphic.
Born in the 80’s, the original PUMA California made waves with its laid-back style. The PUMA California rose to fame on the courts but soon crossed-over cultures and quickly became a streetstyle staple. The famed court OG’s low-key style with metallic and leather details and a versatile chunky sole has rocked fashion trends for decades.
The PUMA co.creative collection with Mike Cherman drops on December 12th on PUMA.com and select stores worldwide.
