AXE and young rapper, Lil Yachty have launched a new program in partnership with SoundCloud and hitmaker Zaytoven. It all kicks off with the release of Yachty’s track, Anarchy. AXE the LABEL, aspiring mixtape rappers and producers will have the chance to submit original lyrics for the chance to co-create with Yachty on “Anarchy” and produce custom tracks with Zaytoven through exclusive beatpacks – the winners will earn co-writing credits and a place on the promoted playlist. SoundCloud is known as a platform to help launch aspiring artists – to help young hustlers rise from anonymity to stardom. SoundCloud has played huge role in many of today’s rappers success. We got a chance to ask Zaytoven and Yachty their opinion on how SoundCloud has helped aspiring artist and producers alike.

RESPECT.: What kind of producer are you looking for to help create custom tracks with you through exclusive beatpacks?
Zaytoven: I’m looking for someone to get creative with the pack and bring something unique that I haven’t heard before.
In your opinion, what role has SoundCloud played in helping producers get on in hip-hop/rap?
In this industry, it can be hard to get noticed with so much talent out here and with new producers and artists cropping up every year. SoundCloud is a dope platform for all emerging creatives to make noise and AXE providing an opportunity for them to do this is a great way to get heard.
How did you feel when AXE x Lil Yachty x SoundCloud reached out to you for the partnership?
I felt blessed. To be in this business for as long as I have and to continue to have opportunities to work with companies like AXE and SoundCloud is really a good feeling. I’m a fan of Yachty’s movement;my kids turned me on to him. I think he owns the lane he’s in and he’s been cool to work with. I also like what AXE is doing in the music space so when they approached me to join, it seemed like a win win.

RESPECT.: How excited are you about the program launching to help young hustlers rise from anonymity to stardom?
Lil Yachty: This AXE The Label program is very exciting, because I came up on Soundcloud, and it’s important to help emerging artists get noticed. Earlier this year, I was part of AXE’s Gold campaign too, so it’s great getting to spotlight some new talent with my AXE fam.
What should fans expect from your new track ‘Anarchy‘ ?
It will be unlike anything my fans have heard before since it will include some lyrics written by an up and coming artist, so anyone can get involved.
What kind of rapper/producer are you looking for to co-create on the track with you?
It’s honestly anyone who vibes with the track bad and can lay down a hook I can get with, someone i can vibe because that’s what it’s about.
In your opinion, what role has SoundCloud played in helping aspiring artist/producers on the come-up?
For me, I got on when ‘One Night’ blew up on SoundCloud. Big time music fans are on that platform, cause that’s where the new wave of artists live. Someone heard my track, used it in a funny video that went viral and I haven’t looked back, so I know there’s opportunities for other artists to get discovered in the same way and AXE is working with me to make that happen.
