Hailing from Houston, TX, the city most known for its ‘chopped and screwed’ approach to Hip-Hop music, Eliot Hydro Ness is a self-made recording artist, producer, and entrepreneur who has effectively and skillfully blended the styles of his hometown with the stories, struggles, and triumphs he’s experienced. With numerous mixtapes under his belt, Eliot Ness has worked with some of the industries heavyweights such as Paul Wall and Scarface and has even been featured on projects with Wyclef Jean. It was these projects that captured the attention of music media giants MTV and VH1, in which his works have also been featured on.
Ness is still putting out great music. His EP titled, I’m Me…The Beginning is available now on all digital platforms. He recently released his new video, “Fast Lane” featuring Hogg Booma and is currently working on a new album titled I’m Me that will be released this June.
Music is nothing new to the Houston native, being the younger brother to one of the most skillful female MCs rap has ever known — Dogg Pound’s own Lady of Rage. Growing up watching his older sister dominate as a female artist inspired Eliot to maintain a strong work ethic and strive through diversity to make his dreams a reality.
Not only has Eliot Ness been able to transcend his ideology of hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of the hustle into his projects, he has also been working to raise health awareness in struggling communities specifically surrounding congenital heart disease and lupus. It was the loss of his aunt to lupus as well as being diagnosed himself with congenital heart disease that motivated Ness to begin working to bring awareness and health care efforts into communities he grew up in. He noticed a lack of general health knowledge and the access to resources to prevent the conditions and took upon himself to change that. Through his brand H.O.B Entertainment, his gifts as a lyricist and producer, along with his desire to better the community from which he was bred, it is easy to predict his greatness and success.
Stay tuned for more from the Houston Great.
