UPDATE: New visual for the track added above.
Jorja Smith — probably best known in these parts for her collaboration with Drake — continues to show the world that her music stands on its own merit. Following the Preditah-assisted “On My Mind” comes a new cut titled “Let Me Down,” which features Stormzy and was initially revealed courtesy of Zane Lowe on Beats 1 (she also spoke to Julie Adenuga about the new music, which you can enjoy here). As she explains, the single is “about meaning very little to someone but being okay with that even though it hurts…letting you down is all they do but it’s better than nothing.”
She also explained the connection with Stormz:
I remember I was in studio with [producer] Ed Thomas….and he was playing the chords on the piano and I was singing, and Stormzy kind of drifted in and out…that’s kind of what he does on the verse. It was just beautiful and magical. I think we made a really special moment, and he’s such a nice guy.
Vibe to “Let Me Down” above, which is available via Apple Music/iTunes.
