Under Armour is taking the proper steps to making their company one of the standout shoe brands with the signing of ASAP Rocky. He will join an elite list of public figures like Cam Newton, Stephen Curry, Tom Brady and many more. Rumors started speculating around July and then was just confirmed by the Under Armour team during a press conference.
Rocky will make moves with the Under Armour sportswear line that aims to help enhance their performance wear outside and will focus their support in NYC, Baltimore and Los Angeles. He is a former signee with the Three stripes and has since then moved on to bigger and better things with UA.
“I wanted more than a collaboration partner,” said Rocky via press release. “The only way to achieve this is with someone who is like-minded. The Under Armour team, and especially CEO and founder Kevin Plank, has a shared vision, enthusiasm, and desire to do the same. I grew up in Harlem, and had limited resources to channel my inner-creativity, so I spent too much time on the streets when I should have been more productive. I now have the ability to create a better situation for today’s kids so they can go from school to a safe place to create without boundaries.”
We will keep you posted as more details release on the addition.
