Nike has brought back one of the most iconic sneakers from the 80’s in the classic OG colorway. NikeLab is set to hold a surprise release of the legendary basketball sneakers. We last saw the sneakers featured in a John Elliot collaboration in June. The sneaker was speculated to see a second release during ASAP Bari’s rumored Vlone Nike collaboration after being revealed in Paris, but the deal has been called off. Since then no info on a Vlone collaboration has re-emerged.
Returning to it’s roots the sneaker comes adorned with a nylon metallic silver upper, a leather swoosh and the iconic striped ankle strap. Today, sneakers are built in a different fashion and the shoes are considered more of a lifestyle silhouette than a basketball shoe. Production of the shoe came to halt back in 1987, due to poor sneaker sales. The velcro and unique designs have always been a major hit among sneakerheads. We are excited to see what NikeLab has in store for the surprise release.
