Autotune is a trend, and like many rappers before him, Pell is cashing in on the trend. There’s nothing original about using a heavily used (and heavily scrutinized) studio effect to make a pop-sounding song. As I stated earlier, I don’t blame dude (he wants to move some songs on Itunes). However, despite your arguments (which are semantic), I can’t give dude points for a “fresh” and “original” song. It isn’t, and neither is the video, which is an overly artsy attempt to recreate a Kubrick movie they saw when they were high.

Finally, do you know why people imitate others and follow trends? Because they can’t think of anything original! Or at least anything good that’s original.

Because you say there is nothing original about making an auto tuned song, you say the “original” songs created by Kanye-BoB-Drake-Pell are “imitations.” There can be but one rebuttal to that logic. Running to a dictionary to refute a claim that dude is biting someone else’s style proves you can’t think of a legitimate rebuttal. By bare bones definition, yes, he did create the song.
