I am so fascinated with Mr. Ocean. Our lives have very similar paths. We were born 4 days apart....though a few decades separate us. I am a proud Scorpio. Whatever that means. My family has roots in Lafayette, Louisiana though I grew up in San Francisco. Lafayette is a small, budding city but really rethuglican. His music entrances me. When I first heard "Novocane", I couldn't and can't get enough of it. I have a penchant for left of center music like N.E.R.D. I can go from Yoko Ono to the complete Motown stable of brilliants in one listening. I happen to also be Creole, a gay man of color who rejects most labels. I embrace the eccentric, the challenging, the deep introspective. Just returned from New Orleans. Happen to be there two weeks before Katrina. Left quite depressed. Recently returned and only had depression further settled in. And then to contemplate it being the road test for the New World order. Find Frank to be exotically sensuous. Both "Nostalgia Ultra" and "Channel Orange" are my Albums of the Year(s). Perfect. Been known to be seduced by altered states. Whateva. Frank Ocean is my Ambassador of the New World Order. The composite of what became of all those things that the Civil Rights, Gay Liberation, Sexual Liberation, Woodstock to Motown to Chris Cornell's "Scream". A-ha.
