Levalet is back in Paris, France where he recently finished painting a mural. His latest piece is entitled “Palimpsest,” the title refers to the process in which a material is reused still bearing visible traces of its earlier form. Levalet allows his wheat paste character to smoothly interact with the city.
Similarly, in the image above, he uses an urban structure (that was already there) to create a story around his life-sized paste. “Danse Macabre” (translated “Macabre Dance”) is a piece full of physical and emotional distortions in which the overwhelming deadly quality is heightened by the large orange structure.
