Emcee N.I.C.E. is a triple threat being that he is a multi-Platinum producer, songwriter, and Hip-Hop artist. Emcee N.I.C.E. has recently decided to return to where it all started — his Gospel roots, with his Billboard charting single “Got Angels,” inspired by Gospel Music Hall of Fame and legend Richard Smallwood’s “Angels.” The single speaks of the many angels that watch over us to keep us out of harm’s way, even though every day, the devil tries to sabotage everything you serve.

N.I.C.E.’s “I Got Angels” is currently sitting in the third spot on the Billboard Hot Single Sales category for Gospel artists. Said Smallwood on being an inspiration:

…my music has inspired someone else who is a brilliant young Hip-Hop/rapper by the name of Emcee N.I.C.E. I’m excited That Emcee N.I.C.E. has dropped this new single “I Got Angels.” I’m sure it’ll go places that I never could envision in my mind, but that is how God is.

Check out some of the track’s lyrics:

Covered in the blood of Jesus, born in the city of Angels
Where Satan be scheming your weakness and, ready to wrangle
Entangle you with demons that’s seething
to mangle and strangle, your believing deceiving and reaving
leaving you grieving a legion of treason the reason
he competing and cheatin deleting your faith leaving you wraith
leaving draped completely reshaped undermining your base aye
the message is clear, God is always near,
when you’re faced with the desire, God is always here,
when you’re walking in the fire stay walking with no fear
stay praying with no fear he gotcha
angels and saints when you’re giving him thanks
can pull you through.
