Expect this to throw The Weeknd into a debate he didn’t expect to fall into. During the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio this past Saturday, listeners got to hear a new track from the Canadian Pop star titled “Down Low” — a cover of R. Kelly‘s 90’s hit record. The original version revived the career of Ronald Isley (as Mr. Biggs) and helped launch that of Kelly Price, thanks to subsequent response singles “Contagious” and “Friend Of Mine”. With the XO singer’s update, it will certainly both expand the song to a new generation — many of whom only know R. Kelly for less-than-positive reasons.
