New Music: Brockhampton Has Fun With “Swamp”

Brockhampton is purely internet-bred and their latest single, “Swamp,” speaks extremely well to their style.

The group is known for their absurdities both musically and visually. After releasing Saturation earlier this year, Brockhampton continues hustling with “Swamp” – a musical milkshake drizzled coolness.

The video, according to group member Kevin Abstract, is inspired by a mix of Spike Jonze along with some ’90s Nickelodeon. Brockhampton’s influences pop from the jump in the song’s video, providing a comforting sense of strangeness.

The chorus stays in your head like burs on velcro and group members like Dom McLennon bring swagger to the track. Group members emit wild manners of weirdness, also, from dressing up in officer uniforms to rocking rainbow pinwheel hats.

If you love bubbling instrumentals and young entertainers pushing boundaries, you’ll love this rap group who’s on a serious hot streak.
