PeleBoY drops off a visual for the Tony K-assisted “Up Down.” This hard-hitting track touches on the ups and downs of life. With both rappers hailing from the city of Detroit, a place that has had it’s fair share of ups and downs, the message is fervent and firsthand. With the Motor City going to financial ruin, its recent days show a potential upshot. Detroit is making a comeback in a major way with the building of a new arena, transit systems, and several major brands and tech companies calling the metropolis home.
In the video you get a glimpse of modern day Detroit from Belle Isle to Hart Plaza and everything in between. Tony K, who also directed the video, wanted to show the positive aspects of Detroit, the historic architecture and its famous landmarks.
The lyrics to the hook say it all, perfectly tying in metaphorically with the Detroit themed music video: “I’ve been up down / Used up all my luck still haven’t struck out / Victory is a must / I’m coming up now“
