When it comes to hip-hop, Chicago has produced some of the game’s brightest stars. So it’s only a matter of time until Romey is added to the cluster. Hailing from the city’s Southside, Romey’s road to stardom wasn’t easy. A product of a broken home, the emerging rapper found himself knee deep in the streets. It wasn’t until relocating to Madison, Wisconsin that he zeroed in on his craft.
Eventually, Romey turned his passion for music into a full time hustle. Staying true to his independence, the self proclaimed “King of the Midwest” formed Get Rich Records. With a string of mixtape releases and moving over 100,000 units, Romey then caught the attention of The Source magazine and appeared in their iconic Unsigned Hype column. Write-ups in XXL, RIME and Wisconsin State Journal soon followed. Entering the digital age, leading websites like MTV, AllHipHop, and HipHopDX, have all featured his content.
With a slew of industry co-signs and a hustler’s ambition, it’s clear Romey is a leader in today’s pool of newcomers. Check out the new music video for “I Ain’t Going” featuring King Louie below, produced by Victory Lead. This single will appear on Romey’s upcoming album “Game of Thrones”.
