Beyoncé Named the First Solo Female Coachella Headliner

The highly anticipated Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has finally disclosed their 2017 line. The annual American festival has drafted up what seems to be one of their most well calculated headlines in quite some time. It was rumored back in December that the two would be taking the stage this year, and it has been officially confirmed that Queen Bey and Kendrick will be performing in April.

Forever reigning, as per usual, Beyoncé now holds the title as the first solo female artist to headline the Coachella festival. Kendrick Lamar’s last appearance at Coachella was back in 2012 and has since peaked in his career with 11 Grammy nominations in just the last year. Both artists have held incredible influence in music, social and political awareness, and put on one of the most memorable performances last year in BET Award history.

Joining them in the list of performers are Travis Scott, Future, ScHoolboy Q, DJ Khaled, Gucci Mane, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. The festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The first Coachella 2017 weekend will be April 14 -16, while the second will take place over April 21-23. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 4th at 11 p.m. Will you be attending this year’s festivities?
